Race is a biographical sports-drama movie. This is the first feature biopic movie about African American athlete Jesse Owens, who won a record-breaking four gold medals at 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. Race movie 2016 Directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, the film stars Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, William Hurt, and Carice van Houten.

The race move is being supported by the Owens family, the Jesse Owens Foundation, the Jesse Owens Trust and the Luminary Group.

Principal photography began on July 24, 2014, in Montreal, Canada. Forecast Pictures, Solofilms, and Trinity Race are producing the movie, Entertainment One will release the movie in Canada, Focus Features and TriStar Pictures in the United States on February 19, 2016, and SquareOne Entertainment will release in Germany on May 5, 2016.


Jesse Owens' quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler's vision of Aryan supremacy.
